 Professional Career – Take One

I began to work as an associate at the international law firm of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Frankfurt in 2001. I remained employed there, which included periods of parental leave, until 2013. From 2004 to 2006, I worked as a secondee in the office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and at the investment bank of Goldman Sachs International (GSI) in London.

Professional Career – Take Two

During my last parental leave, I began to become increasing interested in the subject of mediation. Having been drawn into the subject by a newspaper article, I read numerous articles in American and German literature on mediation, visited mediation events and congresses and ultimately became so excited about the subject that I decided to start a second professional career in that area.

In 2012, I began a training program to become a mediator at the Frankfurt Institute for Conflict Advice and Mediation (Institut für Konfliktberatung und Mediation, IKOM Frankfurt). At the same time, I completed the necessary courses to become a specialist lawyer in the area of family law (Fachanwaeltin für Familienrecht). I completed both of these study programs in 2014 and became an associated member of the Federal Work Group for Family Mediation (Bundes-Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Familien-Mediation e.V.).

I have worked in my own law firm since September 2014 as a mediator and lawyer specializing in family law.
